Introductory Courses, Programs in General Insurance, courses leading to the AAI and ARM designations, and the CPCU training program are available through the American Institute for CPCU and Insurance Institute of America.
Just as the property-casualty and risk management community responds to the needs of an ever-evolving marketplace, the American Institute for CPCU responds to your changing professional development needs. The American Institute introduced a new CPCU curriculum in 2002 to better meet the needs of today's risk management and insurance professionals while maintaining the integrity of the industry's most respected professional designation.
The AAI designation program gives you a competitive edge in the increasingly competitive insurance business. You will be able to increase your commissions, improve your insurance knowledge, learn how to avoid E&O claims, and earn continuing education (CE) credits for your license renewal all at the same time. AAI is more cost-effective and more flexible than other comparable programs. Further, no continuing education credits are required to maintain your designation. AAI is the result of a joint effort of the Insurance Institute of America (IIA) and the
Independent Insurance Agents of America (IIAA).
By earning the ARM or the ARM-P designation, you will greatly enhance your understanding of the risk management process, from analysis to implementation and monitoring. Both programs provide fundamental concepts. The information you learn is practical, and you will be able to apply it immediately to your daily risk management responsibilities. You will learn about risk retention and transfer and about some of the latest in advanced risk financing techniques.
