Complete the pre-licensing education requirement for the line(s) of insurance for which you   wish to be licensed.

Submit your application materials and filing fee ($50.00) at the Promissor Assessment Center (test center) when you take the examination.

Applicants will be issued a license by the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance once they have passed the examination and the Department of Commerce and Insurance is satisfied that they meet all other licensing requirements. The Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance makes the final decision as to whether to license any applicant under Tennessee Insurance Law. If such a license is issued, the producer shall not engage in the business of insurance until contracted by an insurer.

NOTE: Any applicant who has been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony, or who has criminal proceedings currently pending against him/her, should file his/her application directly with the Department of Commerce and Insurance and receive approval before completing the required pre-licensing education.
